I was asked to do an Asian inspired makeup tutorial so I chose to do a look inspired by Japanese cherry blossoms because they are one of my favorite flowers and obviously they are a Japanese/Asian flower so I thought it would be perfect. I've been wanting to do a cherry blossom inspired look for a while as well :]].
Products Used:
MAC Magenta Madness Pigment
elf eyelid primer
Rimmel London white eye kohl
Maybelline expertwear blush: Pinch o pink (I will never purchase something from maybelline again but I am going to use up what I have from them)
Beauty Treats Pallete (I used the pastel reddish pink shade and the shimmery flesh toned shade)
L.A. Colors eyeshadow quad: Lollipop (I used the metallic hot pink shade)
Fetish eyeshadow: Secret (This is just a shimmery white so any white with do)
Loreal quad: untamed huntress (I used the matte brown shade)
L.A. Colors Lipstick: Nude
Maybelline eyebrows: Dark Brown (even though this is a brow pencil you can use it as an eyeliner as well)
Scorn nail polish had lasted around 5 or 6 days for me so it is definitely a high quality nail polish and I highly recommend it. I love it and will be purchasing it again when i run out :]]
I have mentioned the Sophie Lancaster Foundation in previous blog post however I wanted to inform you about what happened to Sophie and her boyfriend, and about the foundation in a video because I feel that actually talking about it rather than typing about it is a lot stronger.
Being a gay male I have be the subject of a lot of prejudice and hatred. I'm quite lucky however that I'm not treated as badly as some people (thank god) but I was treated very badly for how I dressed in seventh and eighth grade, and because I had "came out of the closet" in eighth grade I was the subject of much prejudice in my school during eighth grade.
Although seventh grade was a pretty bad school year for me eighth grade was by far the worst school year of my life (apart from all of elementary school) because I dressed in a way that was not considered the norm among my peers. I was going through my scene kid stage at the time and I would go to school with black emo/scene kid hair which I often had spiked up and volumized, and I would wear tight fitting jeans and shirts, along with converse. To make matters worse I was being bullied by a guy, I had previously had a crush on, and his friends. To make a long story short eighth grade was the one year in middle school I never ever want to go back and relive. I was bullied quite a bit however in the end it made me stronger. Due to how much I was bullied in elementary school, seventh grade, and eighth grade I know how hard it is for someone who refuses to fit in with the crowd and that is one reason I support the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Another reason I support the Sophie Lancaster Foundation is because I feel like I can relate to Sophie's story even more than Matthew Shepard's story.
You can donate to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation by buying a S.O.P.H.I.E wristband from Illamasqua, by purchasing a S.O.P.H.I.E eyeliner from Illamasqua, or by simply just donating to the foundation on the Illamasqua website. The link to the wristbands and eyeliners is http://www.illamasqua.com/shop/catalogue/sophie/. Stamp out prejudice, hatred, and intolerance everywhere!
August 11 is the anniversary of the attack on Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend, and I wanted to do something so I did this tutorial in memory of Sophie Lancaster.
